AN ACT PROHIBITING COST-OF-LIVING ALLOWANCES FOR RETIRED STATE EMPLOYEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit cost-of-living allowances for retired state employees in any year in which the State Employees Retirement Fund has negative investment earnings.
Statement of Purpose:
To require state pension investments to realize an increase in order to give cost-of-living increases to retired state employees.
