AN ACT EXEMPTING MUNICIPAL INSURANCE POLICIES FROM THE TAX ON INSURANCE PREMIUMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 207 of the general statutes be amended to exempt insurance contracts and policies entered into with a municipality to provide health insurance coverage to municipal employees, retirees and their dependents from the tax on net direct premiums received by domestic insurance companies.
Statement of Purpose:
To ease municipal costs by exempting municipal insurance policies from the tax on net direct premiums received by domestic insurance companies.
