AN ACT REQUIRING OUT-OF-STATE HEALTH INSURANCE POLICIES TO PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR THE TREATMENT OF AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require all health insurance policies issued out of state that provide benefits of the type specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11) and (12) of section 38a-469 of the general statutes to residents of this state to include coverage for the treatment of autism spectrum disorders.

Statement of Purpose:
