AN ACT RESTRICTING THE USE OF EXPLODING TARGETS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2013) (a) As used in this section, "exploding target" means two or more components that are advertised and sold together with instructions on how to combine the components to create an explosive, as defined in section 29-343 of the general statutes, designed to detonate when struck by small arms ammunition or any other projectile.

(b) No person shall detonate any exploding target within five hundred feet of any building that is used for residential purposes and not owned by such person, without the owner's consent.

Sec. 2. Section 29-347 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2013):

Any person who violates any provision of section 29-344, 29-345 or 29-346 or section 1 of this act shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned not more than six months or both for each offense.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
