AN ACT REQUIRING ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES AND DIRT BIKES TO BE REGISTERED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND TO REQUIRE OPERATORS OF SUCH VEHICLES AND BIKES TO BE LICENSED BY THE DEPARTMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require registration of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and dirt bikes with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), and licensure of their operators by DMV, and to require DMV to recommend penalties for noncompliance with such requirements to the joint standing committee on Transportation.

Statement of Purpose:

To require registration of ATVs and dirt bikes and licensure of their owners.
