DELAWARE STATE SENATE

145th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE BILL NO. 198

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO VEHICLES.


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:


Section 1.Amend §4339(a) of Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting that subsection in its entirety and replacing it with the following:

"(a) Front clearance lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the front or on the side near the front of a vehicle shall display and reflect an amber color."

Section 2.Amend §4339(b) of Title 21 of the Delaware Code by deleting the subsection in its entirety and replacing it with the following:

"(b) Rear clearance lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the rear or on the sides near the rear of a vehicle shall display and reflect a red color."


SYNOPSIS

This Bill brings Delaware into compliance with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) which requires the front marker lights and the front reflectors of a vehicle to be amber, and the rear marker lights and the rear reflectors of a vehicle to be red.
