146th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE BILL NO. 68

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF BETHANY BEACH TO EXPAND THE DISTANCE FROM THE TOWN LIMITS WITHIN WHICH THE ALDERMAN AND ASSISTANT ALDERMAN MUST RESIDE.


WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable that the Charter of the Town of Bethany Beach be amended with regard to the distance from the Town of Bethany Beach town limits within which the Alderman must reside:

NOW THEREFORE:

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE (Two-thirds of all members elected to each house thereof concurring therein):

Section 1. Amend Section 15.2 of The Charter of the Town of Bethany Beach by deleting the words "within five miles of the limits of the Town" and substituting in lieu thereof the following:

"in Sussex County, Delaware".


SYNOPSIS

This Bill amends the municipal charter of the Town of Bethany Beach regarding the distance from the town within which the Alderman must reside by requiring Alderman to live in Sussex County, Delaware.
