BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Chapter 1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to early care and learning, so as to revise a limitation on family day-care
homes; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to early care
and learning, is amended by revising paragraph (8) of Code Section 20-1A-2,
relating to definitions relative to early care and learning, as
follows:
"(8)
'Family day-care home' means a private residence operated by any person who
receives therein for pay for supervision and care fewer than 24 hours per day,
without transfer of legal custody, at least three but not more than six children
under
18
13
years of age who are not related to such person and whose parents or guardians
are not residents in the same private
residence;
provided, however, that the total number of unrelated children cared for in such
home, for pay and not for pay, may not exceed six children under 13 years of age
at one time."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
