BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating the Pike Clean and Beautiful Authority, approved April 4,
1991 (Ga. L. 1991, p. 4093), as amended, so as to change certain provisions
relating to the Keep Pike Beautiful Authority; to change the number of members
of the authority; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective
date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating the Pike Clean and Beautiful Authority, approved April 4, 1991 (Ga.
L. 1991, p. 4093), as amended, is amended by revising Section 1 as
follows:
"SECTION
1.
(a)
There is created the Keep Pike Beautiful Authority, which shall consist of nine
members, each of whom shall be a resident of Pike County. The members of the
authority shall be appointed and removed by the Board of Commissioners of Pike
County.
(b)
The membership of the authority shall be composed and selected in the following
manner: two members who shall be representative of business and industry; two
members who shall be representative of community organizations; one member who
is a public office holder; and four additional members."
SECTION
2.
Said
Act is further amended by revising subsection (a) of Section 3 as
follows:
"(a)
Five members of the authority shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of
business. The members of the authority shall regularly attend meetings of the
authority and shall serve without compensation except for reimbursement for
authorized expenses attendant to the performance of the duties as outlined in
the bylaws."
SECTION
3.
Said
Act is further amended by revising paragraph (1) of subsection (a) of Section 4
as follows:
"(1)
To recommend to the board of commissioners a county-wide recycling plan and to
recommend amendments and updates to the county-wide recycling plan as
needed;"
SECTION
4.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
5.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
