RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Kit Dunlap; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Kit Dunlap currently serves with dedication, determination, and grace as the
President and CEO of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS,
although an Alabama native, Ms. Dunlap has made Georgia her true home,
establishing extensive political, professional, and social networks throughout
the state and earning herself a reputation for integrity and professionalism;
and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Dunlap is a shining example for others, demonstrating perseverance and
tenacity at an early age having to cope with the loss of her mother at the age
of 12 and her father two years later; and
WHEREAS,
this former chairman of the board for the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade
& Tourism began her impressive career teaching physical education at Brenau
Academy while earning her degree from the University of Alabama;
and
WHEREAS,
in her current role as President and CEO, Ms. Dunlap has proven herself to be a
savvy businesswoman who is passionate about business and enterprise and building
consensus among parties with conflicting interests; and
WHEREAS,
under the guidance of Ms. Dunlap, the Greater Hall County Chamber of Commerce,
which is composed of more than 2,900 member businesses and professionals, has
achieved a strong and stable financial position and is recognized as one of the
best run offices in the state; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Dunlap has proven herself to be an extremely effective public servant,
approaching each challenge with dignity and a healthy dose of humor, and the
State of Georgia is honored to have such a motivated and hard-working individual
as one of its citizens.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Ms. Kit Dunlap for her outstanding career and commend her
for her leadership of the Greater Hall County Chamber of Commerce.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Dunlap.
