RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Terrell Academy football team on winning their second consecutive GISA Class
A State Championship and inviting the team to be recognized by the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination, Terrell Academy's football team
earned the top ranking in the state for the second consecutive year with their
28-12 win over Thomas Jefferson Academy; and
WHEREAS,
this amazing team was in control from the opening kick-off, leading 21-0 at
halftime, and the title-earning win by the Eagles completed their impressive
11-2 season; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, the unity of purpose and spirit
of each member of the team, and their superb offensive and defensive talents;
and
WHEREAS,
the Eagles were led by the astute direction of Head Coach Bill Murdock,
Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator Don Beard, Offensive Coordinator Tate
Parker, Assistant Coaches Ashley Walker and Scott Gilley, Statisticians Stephen
Griffin and Robby Freeman, and Team Managers Bentley Griffin, T.J. Pate, Alan
Stewart, and Gable Freeman; and
WHEREAS,
this year's championship team was Brian Ambrose, Nick Beaver, Todd Beaver, Tyler
Beckum, Wesley Bell, Colby Blackburn, Matt Brown, Cole Byrd, Jason Davis, Riley
Davis, Brandon Donley, Jonathan Farr, Thomas Flournoy, Chandler Freeman, Garrett
Freeman, Seth Garland, Levi Griffin, Blake Grimsley, Noah Harris, J. B. Jones,
Wes Lawton, Logan Maxwell, Kyle Mims, Caleb Nelson, Adam O'Hearn, Cole Phillips,
Trevor Phillips, Chase Reagan, Chris Rogers, Lance Sherniskey, Tinsley Short,
Hogan Skandamis, Clint Smith, Evan Stokes, Jamie Timmerman, Trent Walker, Josh
Wardrip, and Caleb White; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the Terrell Academy football team for winning their
second consecutive GISA Class A State Championship and invite them to be
recognized by the House of Representatives at a date and time to be determined
by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach
Bill Murdock.
