RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Coach Margaret Stockburger; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Coach Margaret Stockburger has long been recognized for her superior coaching
skills, her dedication to challenging the future leaders of Georgia, and her
incredible devotion to her players; and
WHEREAS,
Coach Stockburger has dedicated 30 years to uplifting students as an educator,
serving for seven years at Westside Middle School and serving the students of
Northwest Whitfield High School for 23 years; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously dedicated her time, talents, and energy
for 30 years to encouraging athletes to achieve their utmost potential with the
basketball program at Northwest Whitfield High School; and
WHEREAS,
she has served as head coach at Northwest Whitfield High School for the last 14
years, leading her teams to four region championship titles and nine state
tournament appearances; and
WHEREAS,
during the 2009-2010 season, Coach Stockburger and the Lady Bruins were
runners-up in the State Championship game and Coach Stockburger achieved a
career milestone of 300 wins; and
WHEREAS,
she brings out the superior athletic ability of her players and serves as a role
model and mentor to her teams; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her contributions to the students in this state, it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Coach Margaret Stockburger for her decades of service to the
future leaders of this state and commend her commitment to the student-athletes
of Whitfield County.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach
Margaret Stockburger.
