WHEREAS, a staunch supporter of Georgia Southern University, Representative Lane supported legislation that changed the school from a college to a university, was a key member of the delegation that advocated for increased funding for the institution, and led efforts to appropriate over $250 million for university construction projects during his tenure; and

WHEREAS, Representative Lane looks forward to spending his retirement enjoying the company of his family, especially his two grandchildren, Jones and Elizabeth; and

WHEREAS, although Representative Lane's presence on the House floor will be sorely missed by his colleagues upon his retirement, the influence he has had upon the people of Georgia will be ever present.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend their esteemed colleague, the Honorable Bob Lane, on his selfless, efficient, and effective service to the State of Georgia and extend to him sincere best wishes for a happy and healthy retirement.
