A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Ms. Danielle V. Everson on her graduation from Valdosta State University; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Ms. Danielle V. Everson was born on December 14, 1986, in Augusta, Georgia, and is the beloved daughter of David and Dwenda Everson; and

WHEREAS, a graduate of Newton High School, Ms. Everson has served as managing editor for Valdosta State University's newspaper, The Spectator, since 2007, where she manages a staff of seven editors and 25 writers, writes news stories and weekly columns, creates story ideas, and designs page layouts and graphics for the paper; and

WHEREAS, she served as an intern for 13WMAZ in Macon, where she followed reporters on the scene for news stories, assisted in daily story writing for website and broadcast news, taped interviews of reporters, and edited video for broadcast; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Everson recently completed an internship with Metro Valdosta Channel 17, where her talented journalistic abilities were used to write scripts for on-air programs, edit video, tape interviews, and update the programming schedule; and

WHEREAS, she has been recognized with numerous honors and accolades during her years at Valdosta State University, including a GPCA Best News Article Based on Investigative Reporting, a Most Improved Senator Award from the Student Government Association, and a Most Potential Reporter from The Spectator; and

WHEREAS, upon her graduation from Valdosta State University, Ms. Everson plans to pursue a career in broadcast or print journalism; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Everson has brought great pride to her family, friends, and community, and the State of Georgia looks forward with eager anticipation to the promising future of this bright young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Ms. Danielle V. Everson for her years of studious work in the classroom, recognize her outstanding dedication to the field of journalism, and congratulate her upon her graduation from college.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Danielle V. Everson.
