RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Ashley B. Hosey; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ashley B. Hosey has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in the teaching profession and his deep
personal commitment to the education of the students of Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
a native of Rockmart, Georgia, Mr. Hosey graduated from Rockmart High School,
studied art at the University of Georgia, and earned a master's degree in
education from the State University of West Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Hosey has dedicated 13 years molding young minds and challenging students to
achieve their utmost potential through his work in the field of education as an
art teacher at Marietta High School for five years and as an assistant principal
at Kennesaw Mountain High School, an assistant principal and athletic director
at Pebblebrook High School, and in his current position as principal at South
Cobb High School; and
WHEREAS,
a talented writer, Mr. Hosey has published a book of poetry and short stories
called The Warrior's
Psalms and is currently working on a book
about leadership; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Hosey founded ACES, created the first girls conference, serves on the
Georgia 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees, and was awarded a Fulbright
Scholarship to teach for five weeks in Africa; and
WHEREAS,
when this amazing educator and administrator is not at South Cobb High School,
he enjoys painting, writing, and riding his motorcycle in the North Georgia
mountains; and
WHEREAS,
his passion for uplifting the lives of others through education and his vision,
commitment, and tireless dedication to empowering students serve as an example
for all educators; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his contributions to the students in this state, it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Mr. Ashley B. Hosey for his sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia
and recognize the positive influence he has had upon the lives and futures of
countless young people in this state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Ashley B.
Hosey.
