RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Representative Rob Teilhet for his service to the Georgia House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Representative Teilhet planted his political seeds as an administrative aide to
the Georgia State Senate in 1997; and
WHEREAS,
Representative Teilhet earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the
University of Georgia in Athens where he also served as President of the Class
of 2000; and
WHEREAS, Representative Rob Teilhet was elected in 2002 and has honorably served the people of the 40th district for eight years and has been the Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus for the past four years; and
WHEREAS, Representative Rob Teilhet was elected in 2002 and has honorably served the people of the 40th district for eight years and has been the Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus for the past four years; and
WHEREAS,
Representative Teilhet is respected by Republicans and Democrats alike because
of the sincere and honest manner with which he does his job in the House;
and
WHEREAS,
during his tenure in the Georgia House of Representatives, Representative
Teilhet has developed a reputation for working diligently to protect crime
victims, children, and the elderly; and
WHEREAS,
Representative Teilhet has been recognized as one of Georgia's Most Influential
People by James
Magazine and a "Star to Watch" by the
National Journal's Hotline; and
WHEREAS,
due to the ethical manner and integrity with which he has represented the people
of Smyrna and Marietta, Georgia, Representative Teilhet has received awards from
the Cobb County Association of Educators, Georgia Family Council, Georgia
Psychological Association, Georgia Muncipal Association, and the Georgia Water
Coalition; and
WHEREAS,
Representative Teilhet and his wife, Heather, live in Smyrna, Georgia, with
their twin daughters; and
WHEREAS,
in 2010 Representative Teilhet decided to leave the Georgia House of
Representatives to run for Attorney General; and
WHEREAS,
Representative Teilhet's voice of reason, leadership, and contributions to the
House shall be missed as he pursues his future endeavors.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognizes Representative Rob Teilhet's service and contributions to
Cobb County and the State of Georgia and wish him the best in his future
endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to
Representative Rob Teilhet.
