A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Pinkney Taylor; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Mrs. Elizabeth Pinkney Taylor on February 10, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor was born on August 4, 1933, in Savannah, Georgia, beloved daughter of Julia Pinkney and Henry Pinkney, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, this great Georgian was educated in the Chatham County Public School System and earned a nursing certificate from Savannah Vocational Technical Institute; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a dietitian in the food services department; and

WHEREAS, a devoted woman of faith, Mrs. Taylor was a member of Room of Faith Church Deliverance, where she served as Mother of the church, a licensed missionary, and was a well-known and effective prayer warrior; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Taylor was united in love and marriage to the late Ralph Taylor, Sr., and she was blessed with five remarkable and devoted children, Mark, Ralph, Phillip, Clinton, and Marsha; and

WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated provided the foundation and framework of success in which all of her family members have developed and flourished; and

WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example she made of her life, she made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, she leaves behind family, neighbors, and loyal friends who will cherish her memory and the wonderful times shared.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Mrs. Elizabeth Pinkney Taylor.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mrs. Elizabeth Pinkney Taylor.
