A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the Four County Area Exchange Club and the National Exchange Club on 100 years of community service; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, family, community, and nation are important core values in the lives of Americans; and

WHEREAS, Exchange Clubs have been serving communities throughout the United States for 100 years, with the first Exchange Club formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1911; and

WHEREAS, the National Exchange Club is celebrating its 100th anniversary serving our communities; and

WHEREAS, the National Exchange Club, a strictly American organization, is a group of volunteers unselfishly working together to make communities better through programs of service in Americanism, community service, youth activities, and its national project, the prevention of child abuse; and

WHEREAS, the Four County Area Exchange Club is affiliated with the National Exchange Club and provides significant and invaluable contributions to the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, volunteers are vital to maintaining caring and productive cities, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the work of the Four County Area Exchange Club and the National Exchange Club be appropriately recognized for the unparalleled service its volunteers provide to this state.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the National Exchange Club on 100 years of community service and recognize the Four County Area Exchange Club for its selfless dedication to uplifting the lives of the citizens of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to the Four County Area Exchange Club and the National Exchange Club.
