A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the 2008 Milton High School girls lacrosse team on winning their fourth
consecutive State Championship and inviting them to appear before the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination, the Milton High School girls
lacrosse team earned the top ranking in the state for the fourth year in a row;
and
WHEREAS,
these determined athletes completed their season undefeated, as not one team in
the entire State of Georgia could match their skill and ability;
and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; and
WHEREAS,
the 2008 team is made up of stellar athletes, including four national lacrosse
academic All-Americans, three national lacrosse All-Americans, eight All-State
Players, 14 Scholar Athletes, and four players from the graduating class slated
to play in college; and
WHEREAS,
the 2008 Milton High School girls lacrosse team was composed of young athletes
Susannah Hardy, Brooke Eidson, Sarah Michel, Melissa Moore, Kristen Heetland,
Lauren Naftal, Laura Williams, Camden Lang, Allie Ware, Danielle Upton, Sarah
Jeffery, Charli Costa, Karissa Phelps, Natalie Hill, Kristy Henderson, Maeghan
Messina, Diana Davis, Zanny Barkett, Marissa Hardy, Andrea Uribe, Jen Hoffman,
Leslie Crews, Lauren Davison, Olivia Hatfield, Chelsey Dubois, and Annelise
Mowry; and
WHEREAS,
the team's spectacular season reflects the astute guidance and direction of Head
Coach Tim Godby; assistant coaches Kristen Heard, Naitnaphi Limlamai, Janis
McCloy, Jenny Spartz, and Mike Boyd; and trainers Robin Kleimon and Megan Ware;
and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the 2008 Milton High School girls lacrosse team for
winning the 2008 State Championship and invite them to appear before the House
of Representatives on an appropriate date and time to be determined by the
Speaker of the House.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the players and coaches of
the 2008 Milton High School girls lacrosse team.
