RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. Anthony Tricoli; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Anthony Tricoli has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in higher education and his deep personal
commitment to the students of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he earned his bachelor's degree in sociology from Whittier College, a master's
degree in education and counseling from the University of Redlands, and a
doctoral degree in college leadership and administration from Pepperdine
University; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Tricoli's prestigious career in higher education senior administration spans
26 years, and he has worked diligently at Georgia Perimeter College to increase
the school's number of transfer enrollment students accepted to other higher
education institutions throughout the state and region; and
WHEREAS,
he is dedicated to expanding Georgia Perimeter College's enrollment at the
college's six locations and developing diversity among the school's many
campuses; and
WHEREAS,
due to his tireless efforts, Georgia Perimeter College's enrollment ranks first
among the state's associate degree granting institutions and third among all
Georgia colleges in total enrollment with nearly 23,000; and
WHEREAS,
during his tenure with Georgia Perimeter College, the school has been recognized
with such accolades as the Chancellor's Outstanding Customer Service Leadership
Award, three academic All-Americans, two Fulbright Scholars, and a Seven
Revolutions Fellow; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his contributions to the students in this state, it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Dr. Anthony Tricoli for his dedicated and selfless service to
Georgia Perimeter College and extend their most sincere gratitude for his many
contributions on behalf of education in the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Anthony
Tricoli.
