A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Miller Grove High School girls basketball team on winning the
2012 Class AAAA State Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Miller Grove High School girls basketball team earned the top ranking in the
state through fortitude and perseverance in defeating the Southwest DeKalb Lady
Panthers by a score of 46-29; and
WHEREAS,
the Miller Grove High School girls basketball team finished the season with an
overall 25-4 record and secured their first-ever state title since the school
opened in 2005; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the excellent
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, the unity of purpose and spirit
of each member of the team, and their tremendous offensive and dynamic defensive
talents; and
WHEREAS,
the team's stellar season was achieved due to the astute direction of Coach
Renee Breedlove; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned their well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with precision and determination over months of training and
competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the Miller Grove High School girls basketball team on winning the 2012 Class
AAAA State Championship and extend their sincerest best wishes for future
success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Miller Grove High
School girls basketball team.
