A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and congratulating Mr. Bradford R. Borum and Mrs. Shannon Lee Wallace on the occasion of their marriage; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the bride, Mrs. Shannon Lee Wallace, is originally from San Antonio, Texas, and is the beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cain, and Mr. Bradford R. Borum is a good Georgia man who is the son of Mr. Richard E. Borum and Ms. Helen Laverne Stewart; and

WHEREAS, Brad and Shannon had the good fortune to meet under the Georgia Gold Dome while each was working as a lobbyist and had their first date after Shannon pursued her man, enjoying time together in Georgia's parks; and

WHEREAS, the groom, suspected as a confirmed bachelor, succumbed to the charms of his bride who likely learned life skills while working for Senators Eric Johnson, Ralph Hudgens, and John Bulloch; and

WHEREAS, they learned that both enjoyed politics, history, good movies, and their dogs; and

WHEREAS, this special couple became engaged at a romantic spot in a North Georgia park while the happy duo enjoyed a picnic prepared by the groom; and

WHEREAS, this couple exchanged their wedding vows at 11:30 in the morning on October 29, 2011, at Historic Brawner Hall in Smyrna; and

WHEREAS, Brad is a manager for government relations at Kaiser Permanente in Atlanta and Shannon is a teacher in the Douglas County School System, both now residing in Smyrna; and

WHEREAS, their love, affection, and devotion has been an inspiration to all who know them, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the lifelong commitment of this couple be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in congratulating Mr. Bradford R. Borum and Mrs. Shannon Lee Wallace on the joyous and grand occasion of their marriage, commend them for their devotion to one another, and extend to them best wishes for a lifetime of continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Bradford R. Borum and Mrs. Shannon Lee Wallace.
