RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Bethesda Academy boys basketball team on winning the 2012 GISA Class AAA
State Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Bethesda Academy boys basketball team earned the top ranking in the state
through consistency, fortitude, and perseverance throughout the season that
ended in their victory over Griffin Christian High School; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the excellent
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, the unity of purpose and spirit
of each member of the team, and their tremendous offensive and dynamic defensive
talents; and
WHEREAS,
the team's stellar season was achieved due to the astute direction of Head Coach
Clevan Thompson; and
WHEREAS,
founded in 1740, Bethesda Academy is the oldest child-caring institution in the
country and has served over 10,000 boys since its establishment; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with precision and determination over months of training and
competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate the Bethesda Academy boys basketball team on winning the 2012 GISA
Class AAA State Championship.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach Clevan
Thompson.
