RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending On
Common Ground News on the occasion of its
15th anniversary celebration; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
April, 2010, marks the 15th anniversary celebration of
On Common Ground
News; and
WHEREAS,
since the publication began as a four-page newsletter in 1995,
On Common Ground
News has grown to provide comprehensive
news for consumers in metropolitan Atlanta; and
WHEREAS,
On Common Ground
News continues to provide quality news on
a variety of topics and information that includes stories on the national,
state, and local community levels; and
WHEREAS,
over the past 15 years,
On Common Ground
News has expanded its readership from
seven communities in DeKalb County to include coverage for Fulton, Gwinnett,
Henry, and Rockdale counties; and
WHEREAS,
On Common Ground News
is published on the 1st and 15th of each
month and funded by advertisers from corporate, professional, small, and
nonprofit businesses; and
WHEREAS,
On Common Ground News
will continue to expand with various new
offerings, professional printing, and media services which will help it maintain
its position as a major news media source within the ever changing news media
industry and include on line, print media, and other progressive news coverage;
and
WHEREAS,
under the leadership and guidance of publishers and owners Glenn L. Morgan and
Valerie J. Morgan, On
Common Ground News has become a trusted
source for news to countless Georgians;
and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine newspaper and its numerous contributions to the citizens of this state be appropriately recognized.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate and commend the owners and publishers, Glenn L. Morgan and Valerie
J. Morgan, for 15 years of providing Atlanta with excellent news
coverage.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Glenn L. and Valerie J.
Morgan.
