A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Third REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $11,500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the third representative district, as follows:

1.   Ambulatory center in Keaau, Hawaii

     Land, design, and construction for 24/7 urgent care services, imaging, behavioral health and substance abuse treatment, laboratory services, and primary care and speciality care physician offices.

     Land                         $1,000,000

     Design                       $2,000,000

     Construction                 $5,000,000

          Total funding                     $8,000,000

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation.

2.   Wailoa skate park, Hawaii

     Construction for a new skate park facility; provided that the County of Hawaii provide partial matching funds.

     Construction                 $2,500,000

          Total funding                     $2,500,000

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the county of Hawaii.

3.   James "Jimmy" Correa ball field, Hawaii

     Construction for an artificial playing surface and site improvements.

     Construction                 $1,000,000

          Total funding                     $1,000,000

     The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the county of Hawaii.

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2024.
