A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 710, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§710-    Obstructing county real property zoning enforcement operations.  (1)  A person commits the offense of obstructing county real property zoning enforcement operations if the person knowingly makes a false or misleading statement to a bona fide county inspector in the course of the inspector's investigation to ascertain compliance with any ordinance, rule, or regulation.

     (2)  Obstruction of county real property zoning enforcement operations is a class C felony."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act does not affect rights and duties that matured, penalties that were incurred, and proceedings that were begun before its effective date.


     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
