A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to abandoned vessels.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2010-2011 to contract with a salvage company to remove non-submerged portions of the S.S. Dolphin adjacent to Lahaina Harbor and place a buoy marker at the site of the wreck, in accordance with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
