A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO TOURISM.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  (a)  The Hawaii tourism authority shall collaborate with the department of accounting and general services to identify an appropriate location for and open a tourism information booth or center in the state capital district to promote tourism and tourist destinations in the capital district.

     (b)  The Hawaii tourism authority, in conjunction with the department of accounting and general services, shall submit a report on the progress made toward opening a tourism information booth or center to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2021.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2020-2021 for identification of an appropriate location for, and opening of, a tourism information booth or center in the capital district.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii tourism authority for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2099.
