A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to education.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 302A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part V to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§302A-    Moanalua high school performing arts center special fund.  (a)  There is established a Moanalua high school performing arts center special fund into which shall be deposited rental income from the performing arts center.  All interest earned or accrued on moneys deposited in the fund shall become part of the fund.  The fund shall be administered by the department.

     (b)  Moneys in the Moanalua high school performing arts center special fund shall be used for the repair and maintenance of the Moanalua high school performing arts center; provided that the department shall enter into a contract with a contractor to market and maintain the performing arts center.

     (c)  The department shall adopt rules in accordance with chapter 91 for the purposes of this section."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
