A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Fortieth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $82,304,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2024-2025 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the fortieth representative district, as follows:
Plans, land, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for new three-story classroom building to allow students to move to a single track from the State's only multi track.

Equipment $400,000
Total funding $47,002,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Iroquois Point elementary school
Plans, land, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for replacement of failing sewer system and six-foot perimeter fencing for student safety.

Construction $2,975,000

Total funding $3,800,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. James Campbell high school/Ilima intermediate school
Plans, land, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for elevated parking structure (five hundred stalls) - serving James Campbell high school and Ilima intermediate school.

Construction $30,000,000
Equipment $1,000
Total funding $31,502,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2024.
