A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the second representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     Section 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2013-2014:

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Waiakeawaena elementary school, Hawaii

          Plans, construction, and equipment for a fence around campus parking lot for safety.

          Plans                                     $1,000

          Construction                             $12,000

          Equipment                                $12,000

          Total funding                            $25,000

     B.   Waiakeawaena elementary school, Hawaii

          Plans and construction for a two-story cafeteria building; cafe on lower level; and new classrooms on upper level.

          Construction                         $12,000,000

          Total funding                        $12,007,500

     C.   Waiakea elementary school, Hawaii

          Plans, design, and construction for an administration and library building.

          Plans                                     $5,000

          Design                                $1,200,000

          Construction                         $12,499,000

          Total funding                        $13,704,000

     D.   Waiakea high school, Hawaii

          Plans, design, and construction for a new batting cage

          Plans                                     $1,000

          Design                                    $1,000

          Construction                            $448,000

          Total funding                           $450,000

     2.   To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:

     A.   Wailoa Small Boat Harbor, Hawaii

          Plans, design, and construction for a two-lane launch ramp with two floating loading docks to be built at Wailoa Small Boat Harbor below the Wailoa River Bridge.

          Plans                                     $1,000

          Design                                  $269,000

          Construction                          $2,730,000

          Total funding                         $3,000,000

     3.   To be expended by the Hawaii Island Community Development Corporation

     A.   Plans, design, and construction for an adult day care facility for the clients currently being served by the old Hilo Memorial Hospital.

          Design                                    $1,000

          Construction                          $6,998,000

          Total funding                         $7,000,000

     4.   To be expended by the University of Hawaii at Hilo

     A.   Design and construction for a permanent site and building for the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Pharmacy Building.

          Design                                $5,000,000

          Construction                         $33,000,000

          Total funding                        $38,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
