HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

CONGRATULATING AND RECOGNIZING THE JAMES CAMPBELL HIGH SCHOOL 2011 GATOR BOWL NATIONAL CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONS.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, the spirit of athletic team competition is essential to the physical, mental, and emotional growth of our youth, instilling the virtues of perseverance, fellowship, and especially good sportsmanship into the character of Hawaii's future leaders; and

 

     WHEREAS, the JAMES CAMPBELL HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY CHEERLEADERS, based in Ewa Beach, has embodied this spirit by demonstrating great heart and determination in all of their competitive and non-competitive events and community services, displaying outstanding skill and team unity, and living up to their team motto: "RESPECT, we live it, we breathe it!"; and

 

     WHEREAS, due to the outstanding talents of Varsity team members Diane Iosua, Theresa Ramos, Kalena Rodriguez, Amber Kuamoo, Kadie Hoopai, Chanel Aglipay, Sydney Clower, Monica Kea, Tristel Tynanes, Victoria Cachuela, Chynna Oasay, Joscelyn Johnson, Sydney Thompson, Jade Savaiigaea, who were led by their Team Captains Rustean Cullen-Utu, Rheyann Quisano, Juviee Dela Cruz, and Raven Parado, the Sabers proved through hard work, perseverance, and dedication that they can achieve excellence as a team and as individuals; and

 

     WHEREAS, under the leadership and guidance of Head Coach Wendy Kahoaka-Wright, daughter-in-law to long-time Assistant Coach Violetta Wright, the Campbell High School Sabers Varsity Cheerleaders brought great pride to Ewa Beach and the State of Hawaii in December 2011, by winning the Gator Bowl National Cheer Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada, in addition to winning three specialty awards for “Best Choreography”, “Judges Choice” and the "Most Spirited Fans" awards; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2012, that this body hereby congratulates and recognizes the JAMES CAMPBELL HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY CHEERLEADERS for winning the 2011 Gator Bowl National Cheer Competition and extends to them its warmest aloha and best wishes for their continued success in all future endeavors.
