A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO TOURISM.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 141, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§141-     Declaration form; desecration laws.  The department of agriculture shall include in the plants and animals declaration form a statement substantially similar to the following:

     "Various federal, state, and county laws, rules, and ordinances protect public monuments and structures, including but not limited to Native Hawaiian cultural sites, burial grounds, and places of worship.  Learn more about these protections at gohawaii.com/          .

     I affirm that I am aware that protections may exist, and that I will heed to Hawaii's desecration laws.""

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
