A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE fourteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $5,515,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2013-2014 for the purpose of financing capital improvement projects for the fourteenth senatorial district, as follows:

1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Aiea intermediate school

     Design, construct, and equipment for improvements to the cafeteria stage and support spaces; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

               Design                    $ 50,000

               Equipment                 $450,000

               Construction              $ 60,000

                    Total funding                     $560,000

     B.   Aiea intermediate school

     Design, construct, and equipment for an applied technology center, ground, and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

               Design                  $  200,000

               Equipment               $   30,000

               Construction            $1,670,000

                    Total funding                     $1,900,000

     C.   Fern elementary school

     Construct additional new paved parking lot fronting the front office on Middle street.

                    Total funding                     $100,000

     D.   Kalihi Uka elementary school

     Install wheelchair lift to cafeteria and library.

               Design                     $ 5,000

              Equipment                  $45,000

              Construction               $25,000

                    Total funding                $75,000

     E.   Webling elementary school

     Design and construction for campus-wide electrical upgrades; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

               Design                  $  200,000

              Equipment               $    1,000

              Construction            $1,499,000

                    Total funding                     $1,700,000

     F.   Kapalama elementary school

     Fire safety improvements; bathroom renovations; administration parking improvements.

               Design                    $ 96,000

               Construction              $664,000

                    Total funding                     $760,000

     G.   Red Hill elementary school

     Install wheelchair lift to cafeteria and library.

               Design                    $ 70,000

               Construction              $350,000

                    Total funding                     $420,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2016, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sum appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
