A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to education.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to create two additional full-time equivalent positions for the Lahainaluna high school boarding program to ensure the safety of students and enable them to remain on campus during the weekends.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $          or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2014-2015 for the department of education to establish two full-time equivalent (2.00 FTE) positions, to ensure that students who participate in the Lahainaluna high school boarding program may safely remain on campus during the weekends.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2014.
