A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE FOURTEENTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $          , or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2010-2011, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the fourteenth senatorial district, as follows:

1.   Dole middle school

     A.   Parking area along Kamehameha IV road for easy or direct access to temporary classrooms and the administrative office and to serve as the drop-off/pick-up area for buses that impede narrow driveway access.

          Total funding                                $400,000

2.   Kaewai elementary school

     A.   Air conditioning.         $3,500,000

     B.   Improve drainage fronting the library.                    $250,000

          Total funding                              $3,750,000

3.   Linapuni elementary school

     A.   Establish ADA transition accessibility to various areas on campus.

          Total funding                                $375,000

4.   Red Hill elementary school

     A.   Installation of ceiling fans.

          Total funding                                $126,000

5.   Gustav H. Webling elementary school

     A.   Campus-wide electrical upgrades

          Design and Construction   $1,150,000

          Total funding                              $1,150,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2012, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
