A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 269-33, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:
"(d) All moneys in excess
of [$1,000,000] $
remaining on balance in the public utilities commission special
fund on June 30 of each year shall lapse to the credit of the state general fund."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.

Amends the Public Utilities Commission Special Fund law to increase from $1,000,000 to an unspecified sum the balance that may be retained in the Public Utilities Commission Special Fund at the end of each fiscal year. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)
