A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO GRAY WATER.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 107, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§107-    Gray water equipment for new buildings.  (a)  No building permit shall be issued for construction of a new building unless it is established that the building will be furnished with equipment that allows for the collection and future use of gray water.

     (b)  The agency issuing the building permit may grant an exemption from this section upon a showing by the permit applicant that compliance with this section is not practical.

     (c)  For purposes of this section, "gray water" shall have the same meaning as in section 342D-1."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on January 1, 2020.

Description:
