A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE STATE BUDGET.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     Section 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to the department of Hawaiian home lands.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2011-2012 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 for the department of Hawaiian home lands to effectively assess and track the programmatic needs of applicants on its waitlists to determine the amount of future appropriations required by the department for the following purposes:

     (1)  Development of home, agriculture, farm, and ranch lots;

     (2)  Home, agriculture, aquaculture, farm, and ranch loans;

     (3)  Rehabilitation projects that include educational, economic, political, social, and cultural processes that improve the general welfare and conditions of native Hawaiians; and

     (4)  The administration and operating budget of the department of Hawaiian home lands.

The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of Hawaiian home lands for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2030.

Description:

Appropriates funds to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands for effectively assessing and tracking programmatic needs of applicants on its waitlists to determine the funding required for the purposes of lot development, issuing loans, rehabilitation projects, and administration.  Effective July 1, 2030.  (SB573 HD2)
