A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO PUBLIC HOUSING DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 356D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§356D‑    Delinquent accounts.  (a)  The authority may assign to a collection agency accounts for vacated units within state low-income public housing projects that have been delinquent for at least ninety days.

     (b)  Notwithstanding section 4082 to the contrary, with the approval of the attorney general, the authority may delete accounts described under subsection (a) from its delinquent accounts receivable records."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
