  1  1    Section 1.  Section 257.42, unnumbered paragraph 3, Code
  1  2 2015, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    The department shall employ a one full=time qualified staff
  1  4 member or consultant for gifted and talented children programs.
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1  7 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1  8    This bill requires the department of education to employ
  1  9 one full=time qualified staff member or consultant for gifted
  1 10 and talented children programs. The department is currently
  1 11 required to employ a consultant for talented and gifted
  1 12 children programs.
