| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5383 | ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5383, AS AMENDED, | ||||||
| 3 | by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the | ||||||
| 4 | following:
| ||||||
| 5 | "Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of | ||||||
| 6 | 1971 is amended by adding Section 6.11D as follows:
| ||||||
| 7 | (5 ILCS 375/6.11D new) | ||||||
| 8 | Sec. 6.11D. Coverage for treatments to slow the | ||||||
| 9 | progression of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. | ||||||
| 10 | Beginning on July 1, 2025, the State Employees Group Insurance | ||||||
| 11 | Program shall provide coverage for all medically necessary | ||||||
| 12 | FDA-approved treatments or medications prescribed to slow the | ||||||
| 13 | progression of Alzheimer's Disease or another related | ||||||
| 14 | dementia, as determined by a physician licensed to practice | ||||||
| 15 | medicine under the Illinois Medical Practice Act of 1987. | ||||||
| 16 | Coverage for all FDA-approved treatments or medications | ||||||
