| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 640

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 640 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | adding Section 9-15 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (305 ILCS 5/9-15 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 9-15. Township food pantries. In a county under | ||||||
| 8 | township organization, a township may provide, from moneys | ||||||
| 9 | received and collected for public aid to all persons eligible | ||||||
| 10 | therefor under Article VI of this Code, funds and administer | ||||||
| 11 | programs for providing in-kind aid in meeting basic maintenance | ||||||
| 12 | requirements, including, but not limited to, food, paper goods, | ||||||
| 13 | toiletries, and clothing, to persons who are poor, indigent, | ||||||
| 14 | homeless, or in need of immediate assistance, in addition to | ||||||
| 15 | financial aid provided under this Code.".
