1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Coal and Energy Development Bond
5Act is amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 1110/2) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 4102)
7 Sec. 2. As used in this Act, "coal" or "coal resources"
8include coal, coal products or by-products, including
9electricity and and synthetic fuels. "Development of fossil
10fuels and coal resources" includes research, development, and
11demonstration of improved methods of discovery, production,
12transportation, sale, distribution, conversion, utilization,
13end-use and waste disposal of fossil fuels and coal resources.
14"Development of alternative forms of energy" includes
15research, development and demonstration for the purposes of
16promoting the adoption and utilization of energy systems,
17including but not limited to solar heating and cooling, solar
18passive, photovoltaic, wind, bioconversion, geothermal,
19hydroelectric, re-use of waste energy, re-use of waste
20materials, and any other energy system except that which is
21generated by nuclear energy. "Fossil fuels" include petroleum,
22petroleum by-products and natural gas.
