1 AN ACT concerning civil law.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Adoption Act is amended by changing Section
53 as follows:
6 (750 ILCS 50/3) (from Ch. 40, par. 1504)
7 Sec. 3. Who may be adopted. A male or female child, or an
8adult, may be adopted, provided the the other conditions set
9forth in this Act are met, and further provided, with respect
10to an adult, that such adult has resided in the home of the
11persons intending to adopt him at any time for more than 2
12years continuously preceding the commencement of an adoption
13proceeding, or in the alternative that such persons are related
14to him within a degree set forth in the definition of a related
15child in Section 1 of this Act.
