1 AN ACT concerning civil law.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Adoption Act is amended by changing Section
53 as follows:
6 (750 ILCS 50/3) (from Ch. 40, par. 1504)
7 Sec. 3. Who may be adopted.
8 A male or female child, or an adult, may be adopted,
9provided the the other conditions set forth in this Act are
10met, and further provided, with respect to an adult, that such
11adult has resided in the home of the persons intending to adopt
12him at any time for more than 2 years continuously preceding
13the commencement of an adoption proceeding, or in the
14alternative that such persons are related to him within a
15degree set forth in the definition of a related child in
16Section 1 of this Act.
