Provides that, on and after the effective date of the amendatory Act, no township in McHenry County may be dissolved under the Article. Repeals the provisions 2 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
60 ILCS 1/24-5 new

Amends the Dissolution of Townships in McHenry County Article of the Township Code. Provides that, on and after the effective date of the amendatory Act, no township in McHenry County may be dissolved under the Article. Repeals the provisions 2 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act.

1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section
524-5 as follows:
6 (60 ILCS 1/24-5 new)
7 Sec. 24-5. 2-year moratorium on township dissolutions
8under this Article.
9 (a) On and after the effective date of this amendatory Act
10of the 102nd General Assembly, no township in McHenry County
11may be dissolved under this Article.
12 (b) This Section is repealed 2 years after the effective
13date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly.
