1 AN ACT concerning gaming.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975 is amended
5by changing Section 3.12 as follows:
6 (230 ILCS 5/3.12) (from Ch. 8, par. 37-3.12)
7 Sec. 3.12. Pari-mutuel system of wagering. "Pari-mutuel
8system of wagering" means a form of wagering on the outcome of
9live or historical previously run horse races in which wagers
10are made in various denominations on a horse or horses and all
11wagers for each race are pooled and held by a licensee for
12distribution in a manner approved by the Board. Wagers may be
13placed via any method or at any location authorized under this
14Act.

16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
