3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
5SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the
6electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general
7election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption of
8this resolution a proposition to amend the Illinois
9Constitution in Article VIII by adding Section 5 as follows:

13SECTION 5. PROHIBITED EXPENDITURES; PENSION SUBSIDIES
14 Public funds shall not be expended for the purpose of a
15subsidy or bailout of a pension fund or retirement system for
16members of the General Assembly or officers under Section 1 of
17Article V.

SCHEDULE
19 This Constitutional Amendment takes effect upon being
20declared adopted in accordance with Section 7 of the Illinois
21Constitutional Amendment Act.
