| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jan | ||||||
| 4 | Michael Tchoryk, who passed away on April 5, 2023; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Jan Tchoryk was born on September 4, 1967; he | ||||||
| 6 | served with the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Jan Tchoryk served as a lieutenant with Engine | ||||||
| 8 | 4/Tower Ladder 10 of the Chicago Fire Department; he joined | ||||||
| 9 | the department in 1997; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Jan Tchoryk was an active outdoorsman and a | ||||||
| 11 | motorcyclist; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Jan Tchoryk was the friendly person in the room; | ||||||
| 13 | he was always smiling and brought joy to everyone he met; a | ||||||
| 14 | selfless person, he was concerned about everyone else and | ||||||
| 15 | never concerned about himself; he was passionate about his | ||||||
| 16 | family, the outdoors, and serving others; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Jan Tchoryk was the beloved husband of Natalia | ||||||
| 18 | Kavkun; the loving father of Jacqueline Nicole, Dylan C.P.D., | ||||||
| 19 | Olivia, and Grace; the stepfather of Olena Kavkun; the beloved | ||||||
| 20 | son of Olga and the late Jan; the dear brother of Stefania | ||||||

| 1 | (Stefan) Szkafarowsky, Maria (Michael) Osyka, Ewa Tchoryk (Don | ||||||
| 2 | Bardwell), and Taras (Kris); and the fond nephew, cousin, and | ||||||
| 3 | uncle to many; therefore, be it

| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 5 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 6 | we mourn the passing of Jan Michael Tchoryk and extend our | ||||||
| 7 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 8 | and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Jan Tchoryk as an expression of our | ||||||
